Brad M. Askam, M.D. is a fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon specializing in orthopaedic trauma. A Tucson native, Dr. Askam graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Arizona with a B.S. in Molecular and Cellular Biology. He earned his medical degree from the University of Arizona College of Medicine and completed an orthopaedic surgical residency at the University of Arizona Medical Center where he served as Chief Academic Resident (2016-2017). Dr. Askam went on to complete his specialized fellowship training in orthopaedic trauma at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC.
Dr. Askam provides comprehensive fracture care of the upper extremity (shoulder, humerus, elbow, forearm, wrist, clavicle), lower extremity (hip, femur, knee, tibia, fibula, ankle, foot, calcaneus, and talus), pelvis, and acetabulum. Dr. Askam also treats complications related to fractures including nonunion, malunion, infection, and osteomyelitis. He sees patients that are acutely injured in the emergency department setting, as well as outpatient referrals.
Dr. Askam is a member of the Orthopedic Trauma Association. He has lectured nationally and continues to be actively involved in ongoing research, focusing on orthopaedic trauma and fracture care.
Dr. Askam enjoys several recreational activities such as fishing, hiking, basketball, and attending concerts. He and his wife, Elizabeth, are the proud parents of two children, and enjoy spending time doing family activities.
