Biography

Dr. Carson Strickland is a board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in foot and ankle surgery. He provides comprehensive care for a wide range of foot and ankle conditions, from sports injuries and fractures to complex reconstructive procedures and total ankle replacement. Originally from Columbus, Georgia, Dr. Strickland attended the University of Georgia, where he earned degrees in Biology and Psychology. He then received his medical degree from Mercer University School of Medicine in Savannah, Georgia, graduating at the top of his class and earning selection to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society as a third-year medical student. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Tennessee-Campbell Clinic in Memphis, Tennessee, followed by an additional year of specialized foot and ankle fellowship training at the OrthoCarolina Foot and Ankle Institute in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Throughout his training in residency and fellowship, he has participated in the care of athletes at all levels from youth to professional sports, including the University of Memphis, University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and Davidson University, as well as professional teams including the Charlotte Knights, Charlotte FC, Carolina Panthers, Memphis Redbirds, and Memphis Grizzlies. He has authored and published multiple journal articles and currently holds a research grant through the American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society (AOFAS) studying the role of nitinol memory shape staples in the treatment of Lisfranc and midfoot fracture dislocations.

While Dr. Strickland treats all foot and ankle disorders, he has particular expertise in total ankle replacement, hindfoot deformity correction, Charcot foot and ankle reconstruction, minimally invasive bunion and forefoot procedures, ankle arthroscopy, and ankle stabilization. He also provides general orthopedic and fracture care.

In his spare time, Dr. Strickland enjoys spending time with his wife, Klaire, and their two daughters. He enjoys playing golf, exploring craft breweries, and cheering on the University of Georgia Bulldogs and Atlanta Braves.
