Biography

Matthew J. Cavallero, M.D. graduated magna cum laude from University of California, Los Angeles with a BS in physiological sciences. He obtained his M.D. from University of Southern California. After a surgical internship at University of California San Francisco, he returned to USC for residency where he developed a passion for trauma, working at LA County Hospital Trauma Center. To further specialize, he completed a fellowship in orthopedic traumatology in Indianapolis at Methodist Hospital. Prior to joining TOA, Dr. Cavallero was in practice in Illinois and California.

Dr. Cavallero is an orthopedic surgeon with extensive training in orthopedic trauma. He is dedicated to treating patients with musculoskeletal trauma, acute injury and complications. His areas of expertise include surgery of complex fractures of the extremities and the pelvis/acetabulum, nonunion, malunion/deformity, and infection of the bone (osteomyelitis). Dr. Cavallero utilizes advanced treatment options including minimally invasive techniques and biologics to aid bone healing.

Dr. Cavallero understands that having an injury is unexpected and overwhelming. His goal is to work together to determine the best treatment plan, be it conservative or surgical. His ultimate mission is to make you feel comfortable and confident as you progress to your optimal outcome.
