Brian E. Koch, M.D.


Biography

Dr. Brian Koch (pronounced “Cook”) joined TOA in August 2004 following the completion of a one-year sports medicine fellowship at the prestigious American Sports Medicine Institute with the world-renowned Dr. James Andrews in Birmingham, AL. Dr. Koch is a shoulder and knee specialist with special interests in sports medicine, minimally invasive hip arthroscopic surgery, Joint Replacement, hip fracture care, and workman’s compensation injuries.


His education began at The Ohio State University where he graduated summa cum laude with a BS in Biology in 1994. He then also completed medical school at The Ohio State University graduating cum laude, 7th in a class of 210. His residency in orthopaedic surgery was completed at The University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics in Madison, WI in 2003.


Dr. Koch is the team physician for Gallatin High School, Station Camp High School, and Volunteer State Community College athletic programs. He also serves as a consultant to the athletic trainers at several other Sumner County high schools, as well as schools in the adjacent northern middle TN counties. He played varsity baseball at the collegiate level and has a special understanding and interest in the care of the athlete. He is an active staff member at Hendersonville Medical Center & Sumner Regional Medical Center in Gallatin.


In his free time, Dr. Koch enjoys spending time with his wife Annie and 3 children and is a competitive triathlete.
