Over the past year, I unexpectedly found myself needing to see three different doctors at TOA—Dr. Eby for my spine/DDD, Dr. Anderson for my shoulder, and most recently Dr. Douglas for my hand. I was originally referred by a family member, and I’m so glad I took their recommendation! My experience with all three doctors and the entire TOA team has been outstanding. I never felt like I was going in circles. They were quick, to the point, gave me clear options, and most importantly, listened to my concerns and took my preferences into account when deciding on my care. I always felt involved in the decisions and that my opinion mattered. Dr. Douglas’s care included surgery and a quick course of physical therapy, and everything went extremely well. From the doctors and staff to the facilities and billing, the entire experience has been excellent, with no surprise charges. As I’m reaching my “golden years,” I know a few more aches and pains are probably bound to happen (lol!), so it’s comforting to know I have such a great team at TOA to turn to. I’m truly grateful for the care I’ve received!

I have seen Dr. Cook for a knee meniscus repair this spring and most recently a knee replacement. He is incredibly easygoing, down to earth, and knowledgeable. I have seen many orthopedic physicians over the years and he is 100% the best one. He is not arrogant, egotistical, and has a great sense of humor. (except when it is a surgery day - all business). Don't misunderstand his surgery personality vs his office personality, he is just very focused on surgery tasks. While it is very challenging to speak with anyone in his office, if you do connect with Terry or Madison, they are very helpful. The front desk staff of the Mt. Juliet office can be somewhat rude and condescending.

First time coming to TOA. Everyone was so very nice and made me feel so much better. Glad we made the hour and a half trip.

Dr Douglass was a great doctor to work with. I did have an issue with the receptionist that I talked to. She was almost rude, but then got better. I would recommend this practice!

Doctor Burton does not seem to be in such a hurry when I have a clinical meeting with him. That is so important to me. For someone to take their time and explain everything that is happening with my health. Especially with my orthopedic health that i've had a lot of problem with. Thourgh and very attentive

Very attentive to my concerns and desire to assist me, told me the options&allowed me to be an integral part in determining what would be the best option right now. Made it clear to call&schedule a follow up if anything changed...a truly great experience&I'm grateful that I have him as part of my care team!

Upon my most recent post op visit to T.O.A., I was attended by Physician Assistant, Gina Barletta who is a most pleasant lady. She offered to answer any questions or address any concerns I had before releasing me. She felt I had healed well after having vertebrae fused in my neck and needed no further visits unless I requested to be seen in the future. She also offered for me to wait on Dr.Snowden (who was my surgeon) if I wished to stay a bit longer but I didn’t feel it was necessary. T,O.A. is an awesome orthopaedic group with great doctors, physicians assistants, nurses and office staff. Out of the group I have been attended by five physicians who are Dr. Christopher Cook, Dr. James Eby, Dr. Ryan Snowden, Dr. Christopher Ashley and Dr. Keith Douglas. Of these five, I have had surgeries by three. All of my doctors in the T.O.A., have special areas of practice and I've been very pleased by them all. They are very skilled physicians with a wonderful bedside manner.

This appointment was my first time there. Everyone was cheerful and smiling so I was comfortable. Mike Hubert NP had a conversation and questions with me and was able to locate the area of my problem. I was given an injection in my back and I never felt it. I was given a prescription and I picked it up. Doing fine with no adverse symptoms. I am happy to start my PT with TOA and have hopes of feeling better. Thank you. Shirley Sartain

The ladies at the front desk, do not look up and say good morning or good afternoon, they don't smile, they look unhappy to be there actually. The NP's are friendly & never make me feel like they're in a rush, they take the time to listen to my questions and give me answers

Dr Douglas is very caring and knowledgeable. I will definitely return should I have any other hand issues.

I was lucky enough to have Dr. Kurtz replace my left hip. He does the anterior hip replacement or also known as the "Super Path" The pain was minimal after the surgery for about a week and now it's been over a year and I don't even have a twinge. It's wonderful living without pain. Don't wait like I did for 5 years, do it! just make sure Dr. Kurtz is your doctor.
