Dr. Cook is a Board Certified orthopedic surgeon with nearly 20 years of experience specializing in a variety of surgical and non-surgical therapies. Using state of the art techniques, he performs minimally invasive hip and shoulder replacement as well as muscle sparing total and partial knee replacement. Dr. Cook is also proficient in shoulder arthroscopy, including rotator cuff and labral repair, as well as knee arthroscopy, including ligament reconstruction and meniscal repair. Hand procedures and trauma are also areas of expertise.

Dr. Cook is a Nashville native and attended Hillwood High School. He later graduated with honors from Belmont University before attending The University of Tennessee College of Medicine, graduating first in his class and earning the Faculty Medal for highest academic achievement and induction into The Alpha Omega Alpha national medical honor society. Upon completion of his orthopedic surgery training at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Dr. Cook returned home to Middle Tennessee to be closer to family and to start his practice.

Throughout his career, Dr. Cook has served as a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons and as an active member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), the Tennessee Orthopaedic Society (TOS), and the Tennessee Medical Association (TMA). Dr. Cook has served his local communities as team physician for several high school football teams, and often leads classroom instruction on orthopedic topics for Belmont University nursing students.

Dr. Cook's contributions to medical research include biomechanical studies on tendon transfers and studies assessing the impact of cardiovascular education on health outcomes for inner-city youth. His commitment to community service includes volunteer roles at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, VA Medical Center, International Children's Heart Foundation, and American Red Cross Disaster Relief.

Before starting medical school, Dr. Cook worked in biomedical research at Vanderbilt University studying breast cancer therapies, motivated in part by his mother's personal battle with breast cancer. While at Vanderbilt, he met his wife of 23 years, Dr. Rebecca Cook, who continues her career at Vanderbilt working to discover new therapies for breast cancer. They have two talented children, Terry and Savannah, who bring laughter and inspiration to their lives.

Dr. Cook is an avid runner and cyclist, completing two full Iron Man triathlons and several ultramarathons, both road and trail. Dr. Cook also enjoys rock climbing, skiing, tennis and golf, but values time with family above all else.
