Biography
Dr. McGehee joined TOA in 2007 after completing a fellowship in sports medicine and shoulder reconstruction under Dr. Richard Hawkins at the Steadman Hawkins Clinic of the Carolinas. After graduating from Vanderbilt Medical School in 2001, he completed a general surgery internship and residency in orthopaedic surgery at Emory University in Atlanta.
Although Dr. McGehee specializes in thearthroscopic treatment of sports
injuries and soft tissue disorders of the joints and extremities, he
also performs shoulder reconstruction including total shoulder replacement and reverse shoulder replacement. Additionally, he treats
many general orthopaedic conditions including fractures and joint pain.
He has provided physician coverage for teams at all levels, ranging
from high school football to professional baseball. He currently assists
in team coverage for Montgomery Bell Academy.
A native Tennessean, Dr. McGehee grew up in Nashville and was
valedictorian of his high school class at Montgomery Bell Academy.
Attending Vanderbilt University as a recipient of the Harold Stirling
Vanderbilt Scholarship, he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of
Science degree in Chemistry and Fine Arts.
Dr. McGehee and his wife Paige, also from Nashville, enjoy spending time with their four young daughters.
