Biography

Jason E. Smith, M.D. is a board certified, fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in spine surgery. His clinical interests include degenerative disorders of the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine, as well as specializing in minimally invasive techniques in spine surgery.

Dr. Smith is a graduate of the Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans.

He completed an orthopedic residency program in Albuquerque, New Mexico and an extensive spine fellowship at OrthoIndy in Indianapolis, Indiana where he focused on minimally invasive techniques in treating cervical, thoracic, and lumbar conditions.

Dr. Smith has published textbook chapters and has several published articles related to spinal conditions and their treatment.

He is a member of the North American Spine Society and the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. He is a fellow of the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons.

Dr. Smith has been in private practice in Baton Rouge, Louisiana for the past 15 years and has treated thousands of patients both non operatively and surgically.

In his free time he enjoys fitness training and spending time with his family and friends.
