My Total Shoulder Replacement was December 17th, 2025. At 70 years old, I was hesitant going into my first appointment to see Dr. Paul Grutter. He made me feel at ease and answered every question I had. I agreed to have the surgery that afternoon. Before surgery, his team called me and got me ready for that day. I arrived at the Indian Lake Surgery office and was ready for the pain to go away. Everyone treated me with kindness and concern. Dr. Grutter arrived, asked a few questions, measured my shoulder, and said, "we are ready." I had No Regrets. I gave my full belief that Dr.Grutter and his staff would make this happen. Almost 6 months have passed since surgery and I haven't had any pain. On rehab days, I was beat, but in a good way. Again, the staff was fabulous. Thank you, Dr. Grutter for everything. Dr Grutter listens and gives informative answers about treatment options. He is willing to consider treatments that have been successful in the past. At this first appointment with him, I felt cared for and that I have found a provider that will help me from here forward.

First time I had met Dr Grutter, I had pain in my knee, he came in and ask how he could help and made me feel relaxed. Told him of the pain and how it was getting worse, and I was concerned because we were going on a cruise with several excursions and would require lots of walking. He listened and then examined my knee, and recommended a combination of things we could try and seemed genuinely willing to find a treatment plan than would be beneficial for improving the pain.I left excited and hopeful that it would work.I look forward to seeing him again and would recommend him.

I had a great experience with this group. I am horribly claustrophobic, and was concerned about an MRI. Their machine is larger than other machines, and the staff were very patient with me. My surgery (rotator cuff) went very well, and I started PT 3 days post op.

Impressive medical background. Professional but personable. He listens to your concerns and answers your questions. I have excellent results from total hip replacement. Dr Gruter will continue to be my physician of choice for any future orthopedic issues.Staff is great. Easy to schedule appointments and surgery. PT, x-ray and MRI available on site which is very convenient. Beautiful facility (Hendersonville location).

Got an appt quickly and treatment plan in place.

I started having issues with my elbow and called TOA. They had my appointment made for the next day and I was in and out with a plan in place. Dr Grutter explained everything throughly and we set up a follow up for a few weeks out. I was back at work within my normal lunch break.

Explained procedure in great detailed. Answered all my questions. Made me feel comfortable with the surgery.

My experience with Doctor Grutter has been excellent. He performed my total knee replacement surgery in September 2025. His work is clean and precise. My scar is minimal and has healed very well. Just did my 6 month checkup and all is well.

Dr. Grutter did my hip replacement 2 weeks ago. I remember holding a pillow in the surgery center, with the team around me, then waking in a warm, heated bed with a gel blanket! The nurse offered me a snack/ drink just as I thought of it. Soon, they had me up walking, doing stairs, & leaving to go home! I like Dr. Grutter very much. I have had several surgeries done and have never had any problems. He is not one to push you into surgery but will suggest additional options to try even though he knows that surgery is the only thing that is really going to fix your problem. He has a very calm demeanor both in the office and before surgery. I would highly recommend him.

After seeing my main Dr for 6 months with no results and more significant pain I was referred to Dr Grutter. He really listened and truly cared. Did an MRI and found a torn rotator cuff from a fall I had back in July. Not enough words to express my gratitude 🙏

Very straight forward and informative.

A very good surgeon. His technique on a TKA helps you recover more quickly. I’m 3 wks out of surgery with very little pain walking without a walker or cane and I’m able to do my PT with minimal pain after a session
