Biography
Dr. Joyner graduated from the Texas Tech University School of Medicine with honors as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. Prior to earning his medical degree, he graduated summa cum laude from Midwestern State University with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. He completed a five year residency in orthopaedic surgery at the University of Texas Medical Branch. He completed a one-year fellowship in hand and upper extremity surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
Dr. Joyner is on the medical staff at Saint Thomas Rutherford and StoneCrest Medical Center in Smyrna. He sees patients at TOA offices in both Murfreesboro and Smyrna. His practice focuses on surgery of the hand and upper extremity, including the shoulder. He works also in arthroscopic management of disorders of the shoulder, elbow and wrist; percutaneous/minimally invasive techniques for the management of scaphoid fractures; and joint replacement/reconstruction of the shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand.
Dr. Joyner enjoys spending time with his family. He and his wife have five children. His recreational interests include fitness activities and golf. He and his family are also involved in local church activities.
