Biography

Dr. Lee Hunter received his undergraduate education from Vanderbilt University where he received a B.A in Anthropology. He attended medical school at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis., followed by Orthopaedic Surgery Residency at the Campbell Clinic. He became affiliated with TOA Columbia (formerly Mid-lTennessee Bone and Joint Clinic) in 2002 and obtained his M.B.A. from the University of Tennessee in 2009.

Dr. Hunter is from Selmer, TN and his wife, Mary, is from Jackson. They have two children who they raised in Columbia. Dr. Hunter is an avid outdoorsman, where he enjoys spending time with his family, hunting, fishing, and skiing. He has worked as a medical missionary in St. Lucia and Zimbabwe.

Dr. Hunter is Past President of the Tennessee Orthopaedic Society, and has served as a Councilor to the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons representing the State of Tennessee. He serves as a Board Member of the Tennessee Orthopaedic Alliance and speaks at national and international upper extremity surgical meetings.

Dr. Hunter has over 25 years of experience in upper extremity surgery and has invented, commercialized and sold medical devices to orthopaedic companies which now market and distribute them worldwide. He holds seven issued United States Patents, with multiple patent applications pending in the US and foreign jurisdictions. He is a published surgical literature author and serves on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Orthopaedic Experience and Innovation.
